Zachary "Zach" Loft

Zachary T. “Zach” Loft, 30, of Lafayette, died at IU Arnett Hospital Emergency Room Saturday evening February 11, 2017 shortly after admission due to an injury suffered in a fall at his residence. Zach was born in Lafayette November 10, 1986, the son of Randall J. “Randy” Loft and Bonnie C. Youart Loft. He was a 2005 graduate of Harrison High School and a 2012 graduate of Ivy Tech with a degree in Advanced Manufacturing. Zach was employed by the City of Lafayette Water Department as a location technician. He enjoyed playing baseball, first with East Tipp Summer Rec and later for Harrison High School. He was an avid Purdue basketball and Chicago Bears football fan and loved working on his 2002 Trans AM and riding motorcycles. Zach had a heart of gold and always found good in others. He loved people and he loved life. Surviving with his parents, Randy and Bonnie of Lafayette is a brother, Tanner Y. Loft of Lafayette; maternal grandparents Hal and Lynn Youart of Lafayette and paternal grandmother, Joyce Loft, also of Lafayette. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Loft and a cousin, Brett Sondgerath. Friends may call at the Dayton United Methodist Church from 4 until 7 PM Friday Feb. 17. Funeral services will be held at the Dayton United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM Saturday, Pastor Eric Schneider officiating.
