William Ulrich, Jr.

William G. “Bill” “Pip” Ulrich, Jr., 93 of Lafayette, passed away at Cumberland Pointe Healthcare in West Lafayette, IN Wednesday Jan. 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM where he had resided the past three years. Bill was born in Lafayette, IN June 9, 1927 to the late William and Elizabeth (McClurkin) Ulrich and was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. He married Evelyn Rose Smith at St. Mary’s Cathedral June 25, 1949 and she preceded in in death March 1, 2012. Bill was an employee of the former Rostone Corporation for 47 years before his retirement. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, euchre, basketball and softball. Surviving are three daughters, Janet L. (Roger) Shaw of Attica, IN; Lisa L. (Tina) Ulrich of Sarasota, FL; Laura L. (Robert) Anthrop of West Lafayette; a son, William L. Ulrich of Lafayette, and a nephew, Tom Howe (Jan) of Winter Park, FL. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Ulrich, a brother, James Ulrich and a sister, Mary Howe. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Lafayette with Fr. Dennis O’Keefe officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
