William Meyers

William F. Meyers, 91, of Lafayette, passed away at Mulberry Healthcare Center in Mulberry, IN 5:15 PM Sunday January 16, 2022. He was born in Lafayette March 17, 1930, the son of the late William Frank and Margaret (Foley) Meyers. William was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and received training in aircraft sheet metal and tool and die making and received his aircraft instructor rating. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1948 until 1952. William was employed as a tool maker for TRW/Ross Gear 32 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge, over 60 year member of American Legion Post 11 and a member of the 40 & 8, Voiture 364. William was an avid golfer and enjoyed bare bow archery. He was first married to Barbara G. Shumate in 1954 and they later divorced. William later married Ilene M. Adams in West Lafayette, IN in 1971 and she preceded him in death in 2005. Surviving is a son, Steven Meyers (Maleea Shull) of Crawfordsville, IN; three step-sons, George and Dan Taylor of Lafayette and Chuck Taylor of Little Rock, AR. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Brayden and KyLee, and 11 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa E. Meyers, a brother, John Joseph Meyers and a step-son, Ron Taylor. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Saturday January 22 in St. Ann Catholic Church in Lafayette.
