Virginia Patterson

Virginia A. "Ginny" Patterson, 88, of Romney, IN. died at Seton Specialty Hospital in Lafayette 2:15 PM Saturday October 9, 2010. Virginia was born September 17, 1922 in Lafayette to the late John S. and Jessie Leona Hurst Hitner and graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School. She married Lloyd H. "Pat" Patterson in Lafayette September 19, 1942, and he preceded her in death July 8, 2009. Mrs. Patterson was a member of Romney United Methodist Church; the former Order of Eastern Star chapter in Romney, now New Richmond; and a member of Tri Kappa Sorority. She and her husband had owned and operated Patterson's Radio & TV in Linden 25 years, and later owned and operated Patterson's Hardware in Romney 25 years. Surviving is a daughter, Kimberly J. Holden (husband Jonathan A., II) of Indianapolis; a grandson David Patrick Lloyd Holden and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Hitner. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Jean McCormick, Mary Rufener and a brother John Allen Hitner. Virginia "Ginny" was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Linden, from 5 until 8 PM Thursday. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, Elmwood Cemetery, Romney, with Rev. Dr. R.
