Velma O. Clements, 81, of Waynetown, died at St. Clare Medical Center Emergency Room at Crawfordsville 10:51 PM Tuesday July 27, 2010. Velma was born January 11, 1929 at St. Francisville, IL. the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Alta Shaner Edgin. She attended St. Francisville, IL. schools, and had resided in Waynetown since 1971, moving there from Alamo, IN. Velma married Harold R. "Buck" Clements in 1971 in Marshall, IL and he preceded her in death January 6, 2004. Mrs. Clements retired from Impex, where she had worked as a press operator. She attended Friendship Baptist Church in Crawfordsville, and had also attended Waynetown Baptist Church. Surviving is a daughter, Diana Clifford (husband Wayne) of Hampton, New Hampshire; 5 sons, Tom Emerson (wife Rhonda) of Crawfordsville, IN.; James Emerson (wife Dorothy) of Crawfordsville, IN.; Joe Emerson(wife Kris) of Elmdale, IN.; Mike Emerson (wife Lisa) of Lafayette, IN.; Roger Emerson of Elmdale, IN.; 2 step-sons, Gary Clements (wife Mary Ann) and Jack Clements (wife Helen), both of Lafayette, IN.; 2 brothers, Raymond Edgin of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Forest Lee Edgin (wife Mary Kay) of Vincennes, IN. 2 sisters, Bonnie Remlinger (husband Harry Dean) of Marshall, IL., and Betty Pennic of St. Francisville, IL. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by a son, Timothy Emerson, a daughter Emma Jean Emerson, and 2 brothers, Ralph and Bud Edgin. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Linden, from 5 until 8 PM Friday. Funeral service at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME 10:00 AM Saturday, Rev. Dr. Curtis W. Brouwer and Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating.
