Tongfakuen Wat

Tongfakuen Wat, age 96, of West Lafayette and formerly of Naperville, IL passed away peacefully at her son, Samuel Wat’s residence in West Lafayette Saturday morning January 25, 2025. She was born in Jiangsu, China October 19, 1928, the daughter of Yi Yue Tong and Yong Xia Xu. Her marriage was to Kam Shan Wat in Hong Kong January 11, 1952 and he preceded her in death October 10, 2008. Tongfakuen was a member of Truth Lutheran Church in Naperville, IL and had formerly been a kindergarten teacher and director.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Lo (Samuel) of Bolingbrook, IL, Susan Chan (Daniel) of Naperville, IL, five sons, Samuel Saushun Wat (Jillian) of West Lafayette, IN, Samson Wat (Sandy) of Huntley, IL, Sidney Wat (Shu Zhen) of Hong Kong, James Wat (Fanny) of Aurora, IL and John Wat (Shirley) of Plainfield, IL. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers.
