Thomas Wang

Thomas Edward "Tom" Wang, 69, of Lafayette died in his residence Wednesday February 10, 2010 of natural causes. Born in Hammond, IN. August 11, 1940, the son of the late Raymond W and Roverta I. Freyman Wang, he attended Oxford (IN) Schools. He married Janet Curtis August 8, 1980, and they later divorced. Mr. Wang retired from Purdue University, where he had worked in the housing department. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1962. Mr. Wang was a member of the American Legion Post 11 and the 40 & 8, Voiture 364, both in Lafayette, and the Pine Village Masonic Lodge. Surviving is a daughter, dawn Gunn (husband Mike) of Lafayette, IN.; 4 brothers, Raymond "Butch" Wang (wife Joan) of Sheldon, IL.; James "Jim" Wang (wife Tootie) of Oxford, IN.; Jack Wang (wife Joy) of West Point, IN.; Robert "Bud" Wang (wife Karen) of Lafayette, IN. ; 4 sisters, Marie Max (husband Lindy) of Pine Village, IN.; Bette Goldsmith (husband Steve) of Attica, IN.; Roberta Burton (husband Darrell) of Lafayette, IN. and Audrey Hardebeck (husband John) of Fowler, IN. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and a great-grandson. Preceded in death by his step-father, Howard Goldsmith, a brother William "Bill" Wang and a sister Debra Wang. Private family services will be held at a later date. One of Tom's biggest pleasures was to meet his siblings for dinner every Tuesday.
