Sheldon Wright

Sheldon W. Wright, 92, of Lafayette, and formerly of Romney, Indiana, died at Bickford Cottage in Lafayette 6:50 P.M. Wednesday June 18, 2008. Born August 31, 1915 in LaPorte, IN. to the late Frank and Clara Wallace Wright, he was a graduate of Westville, IN. High School. He married Pauline L. Pflugshaupt at Westville, IN. April 22, 1939, and she preceded him in death November 15, 2002. Mr. Wright had worked as the manager of the maintenance department for Standard Oil, now Amoco from 1942 until he retired in 1979. He was a member of Romney United Methodist Church; a 50 year member of the Romney Masonic Lodge # 441; a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis; and the Elks Lodge in West Lafayette and Punta Gorda, Florida. Surviving are 3 sons, Robert K. Wright (wife Sherri) of Terre Haute, IN.; Allen K. Wright (wife Janet) of Clarks Hill, IN.; Paul K. Wright (wife Peggy) of West Point, IN.; 2 sisters, Lucille Keel (husband Dean) and Joan Elliott (husband Elmo) both of Westville, IN.; 2 step-sisters, Betty Townsend of LaPorte, IN.; Barb Coates (husband Arni) of Westville, IN.; 3 step-brothers, Elmo Elliott (wife Joanne) of LaPorte, IN.; Barney Elliott of Las Vegas, NV.; and Bob Elliott of LaPorte, IN. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Linden, IN. from 5 until 8 P.M. Saturday, with Masonic services at 6:00 P.M. Saturday.
Funeral services at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Pastor Chester Tague officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery at Romney. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Richard C.
