Sara Ruth Brown, 82, of Oxford, died at the residence of her son in Boswell 1:30 P.M. Sunday April 5, 2009. She had been in ill health since June 2008. Mrs. Brown was born in Carahue, Chile July 11, 1926 the daughter of the late Zenobio and Clara Matzke Matus, attended schools in Chili and moved to the United States in 1959. Mrs. Brown was a long time resident of Benton County. She married Everett Brown August 13, 1970 in Oxford and he preceded her in death November 30, 1990. Mrs. Brown worked for 20 years at Purdue University, retiring in 1989. Surviving is a daughter, Carolina (husband Doug) Kurnava of Sugarland, Texas; 6 sons, Raul "Chico" (wife Pamela) Marin of Boswell, IN.; Ricardo (Deb) Marin of Houston, Texas; Hugo Marin of Yorkville, IL.; Paul Marin; Robert Marin of Marysville, WA.; and Chris Clawson (wife Monica) of Otterbein, IN. Sara was deeply loved by all. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacey Kurnava and great-granddaughter Bishop Zuniga. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford from 4 until 7 PM Thursday.
