Ruth Sturgeon

Ruth O. Sturgeon, 92, of Oxford, IN. died at Westminster Village in West Lafayette 9:25 PM Tuesday May 3, 2011 where she had resided since October 1997. She was born in Fowler, IN. September 14, 1918, the daughter of the late Frank and Olive Mae Conner Nesbitt. Her marriage was to Alva R. Sturgeon at Fowler, IN. November 27, 1942, and he preceded her in death January 15, 1997. Mrs. Sturgeon was a graduate of Fowler, IN. High School and also a graduate of Manchester College, as well as a member of the Oxford Church of Christ. Surviving is a daughter, Marcella Barnhart (husband David) of Blue Grass, Iowa. Also surviving are 2 granddaughters, Erin Nicole Johnson (husband Andrew) and Stefanie Christine Barnhart. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Lora Mae Atkinson and a sister in infancy. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford from 9:30 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Saturday, Larry McMillan officiating. Interment will be held at Justus Cemetery, Oxford.
