Ruth Heazeltine

Ruth Mae Heazeltine, 83, of West Lafayette, died in her residence at 5:40 PM Tuesday December 18, 2012. Ruth was born March 8, 1929 in Terre Haute, IN. the daughter of the late Claude and Opal Shumard Stableton and had resided in the Lafayette are since 1968. She was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute and Terre Haute Business College.
She married William Michael "Mike" Heazeltine in Terre Haute, IN. November 13, 1953, and he preceded her in death November 13, 2002. Mrs. Heazeltine had been a bookkeeper for Rose Hulman and later A & P Foods in Terre Haute. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church; the Catholic Daughters; the Red Hat Society and the "Group". Ruth enjoyed playing cards, bunco, reading and sewing.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel Heazeltine (wife Melinda) of West Lafayette, IN.; Andrew Heazeltine (companion Liz Weger) of Lafayette, IN.; and by a daughter, Cathy Kramer of Muscatine, Iowa. Also surviving are 2 daughters-in-law, Jennifer Heazeltine and Theresa Wright, special friends Dick and Nancy Ramhaps; her dog Bella as well as ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick and 2 brothers John and Tom Stableton.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 to 7 PM Friday, with Rosary service at 4:45 PM Friday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Saturday, St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fr. Dan Gartland officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Guardian Angel Hospice.
