Ruth Rebecca "Beckie" Bennett (Graham)

Ruth “Beckie” Rebecca Bennett (Graham) went to live in eternity with her loving Savior on 11/28/2024 at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette, IN. Ruth was born on April 25, 1940 to Denzil and Inez Hogan (Arbuckle) in Tate, Georgia. Her father called her “Beckie” at the hospital after her birth and that name stuck with her until a few years ago. In her last years, she requested to be called by the name “Ruthie.”

On February 15, 1959, Ruth married her loving husband, Robert “Bob” L. Bennett in Linden, Indiana. Together they had two sons, Terry L. Bennett (Sherry) of Coatesville, IN and Thomas L. Bennett (Pam) of Buffalo, NY and 6 grandchildren, Richard L. Bennett (Heather) of West Lafayette, Kelly Sue VanDame (Brenton) of Lafayette, Jordan L. Bennett of Buffalo, NY, Jalen West (Jhoana) of Lafayette, IN, Darnell T. Bennett of Greencastle, IN, and Aubrey L. Bennett of Coatesville, IN. Ruth has seven great-grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by a step-brother, Leon Helms (Carolyn) of Attica, IN, nieces, and a nephew.

Ruth spent her life supporting her husband and sons on a large swine farm, Melody Lane Farms, that they owned and operated. Ruth was a member of the Homemaker Society for many years. She enjoyed baking and painting ceramics. Ruth loved Jesus and was a member of Linden United Methodist Church before attending Cornerstone Baptist Church in her later years. While living at Creasy Springs, Ruth enjoyed painting, playing bingo, working puzzles, attending bible study and church services. She especially loved and appreciated her bible study teacher, Marge, and the many nurses and staff that brightened her day. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Creasy Springs Health Campus and Franciscan Hospice for caring for Ruth.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Bennett, parents Denzil and Inez Hogan Helms, and step-father Bryon Helms.

Visitation will be located at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home in Linden, IN on Wednesday, December 4th from 10am until the time of service at 12pm, Pastor Mike Vauters officiating Burial will follow in the Linden Cemetery.
