Russell R. "Bob"Church, 68, of West Lafayette, died at St. Elizabeth Central Emergency Room suddenly and unexpectedly Monday September 28, 2009 at 10:06 A.M. Born in Lafayette December 11, 1940, the son of the late Russell D. and Opal I. Warren Church, he attended Lafayette Schools. He married Bertha J. Nield in Deer River, MN. and she preceded him in death in 1987. Mr. Church worked as a machinist for TRW-Ross Gear for 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Tippecanoe County Conservation Club and enjoyed playing cards. Surviving are 3 step-daughters, Shirley Tilford (husband John) of West Lafayette; Jean King (husband Kenny) of Lafayette; Peggy Norman (husband Larry) of Indianapolis, IN. and a step-son, Dana Lister of Lafayette. Also surviving are a step-grandson and 4 step-granddaughters, and several step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother, Larry L. Church.
