Roberta Lehnen

Roberta L. Lehnen, 90, of Lafayette, died at Creasy Springs Healthcare 4:35 PM Sunday March 18, 2012 where she had been a patient the past 6 days.
She was born in Lafayette April 12, 1921, the daughter of the late Fred W. and Louise S. Schmid Seeger, and was a 1939 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School.
Roberta married Charles E. Lehnen in Lafayette May 4, 1946, and he preceded her in death June 4, 1994. Charles was a former fireman and assistant chief of the Lafayette Fire Department.
She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church; St. Ann's Altar and Rosary Society; a former member of the St. Ann's Mothers Club; past president and charter member of the Ladies of Knights of Columbus; past president and charter member of the Lafayette Firefighters Auxiliary and a member of the Tippecanoe County Historical Society.
Roberta was employed at Moran Electric from 1964 until 1973. She later worked for the United Food and Commercial workers Union Local 25 as an executive secretary from 1974 until her retirement in 1984.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Cheryl Mollan (husband Terry) of Rockford, IL; Sandra McMahon (husband Robert) of Lafayette, IN.; a son, Steven C. Lehnen of Pyrmont, IN.; 3 grandchildren, Courtney Kohlstedt (husband Kris); Todd Mollan; Lindsay Durham (husband Tim); 2 greatgrandchildren, Sloane and Lucille Kohlstedt; a cousin, Marguerite Seeger; 2 nieces, Bonnie Trombello (husband Joe) and Connie Beutel; and a nephew, Ned Seeger (partner Peter Bianco). She was precded in death by 2 brothers, Oliver and Robert Seeger.
Friends may call at St. Ann's Catholic Church from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM Friday, Fr. Dominic Young officiating. Private interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
