Robert E. "Bob" Senesac, 75, of rural Lafayette died at 5:15 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at home. He was born June 5, 1933 in Fowler, Indiana to the late Elmer & Leona Gick Senesac. He graduated from Otterbein High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from August 1953 and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in June 1955. He attended Valparaiso Technical School.
On June 14, 1958 he married Cecilia Steiner at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Barrydale, Indiana. He was employed at Duncan Electric/Landis Gyr for 40 years and retired in 1991 as production superintendent.
He and his wife were involved in leadership in Worldwide Marriage Encounter from 1976 to 1985. They were instrumental in the reinstitution of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in 1997 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Chapel and served as coordinators for 12 years.
He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral and was active in church ministries.
His hobbies were animal husbandry and he and his family owned and operated Senesac Kennels for 30 years. He also raised pygmy goats, peafowl, ornamental pheasants and other farm animals. He enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are 2 sons, Gene (wife Heidi) of Lenexa, KS, Pat of Frankfort, 2 daughters, Denise (Steve) Romanowski of Ocean Ridge, FL, Julie (Dave) Slear of Lake Forest, IL , 4 sisters, Nancy Meacham, Pamela (Cliff) Williams, Connie (John) Hughes, Theresa (Dave) Mowery, all of West Lafayette, 3 brothers, Don of Oxnard, California, Herbert (Helen) of Frankfort, and Ray (Barbara) of Midland, Michigan also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Erin and Andrew Senesac, Danielle, Tyler and Justin Romanowski and Alexandra, David and Matthew Slear.
Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from the Wake Service at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Thursday, St. Mary's Cathedral, Fr. Brian Doerr officiating. Graveside service at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fowler, 2:00 PM Thursday.
