Remo Bernardon

March 22, 1946 — July 17, 2011

Remo Mark Bernardon, 65, of Omaha, NE. and formerly of Lafayette, died at Alegent Hospital in Omaha suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday July 17, 2011. Mr. Bernardon was born in Berlin, Germany, March 22, 1946, the son of the late William and Maria Alea Zambon Bernardon, attended St. Mary's Grade School and was a graduate of Lafayette Central Catholic High School and received his Bachelors of Arts from Purdue University. He married Rebecca L. Westrick at Lafayette. In March 1, 1969, and she survives. Mr. Bernardon was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lafayette, and while residing in Lafayette, was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. Mr. Bernardon was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Viet Nam, and was employed as a retail manager for Menard's. Surviving with his wife are 3 daughters, Renee Bernardon of Omaha, NE.; Michelle Bernardon of Chicago, IL.; and Andrea Johnson (wife Chris) of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Quinn Bernardon Johnson and Maren Johnson. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from the Rosary at 3:35 until 6 PM Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Monday, St. Mary's Cathedral, Fr. Robert Klemme officiating, with interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 11.
