Ralph Martin

Ralph Eugene Martin, age 78, 1211 Harbin Rd., Dandridge, TN, formerly of Lafayette, died 12:55 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008 at St. Anthony Healthcare in Lafayette. He had battled cancer for 6 months. He was born January 3, 1930 in Hendricks County, IN to the late James Martin and Margaret Darnall. He married Patricia Trobaugh and they later divorced. His 2nd marriage was to Donna Smith and she preceded him in death. He was a 1948 graduate of Cloverdale High School. He was a member of VFW Post# 3380 in Dandridge, TN. He worked for Lafayette Jeff High School in Maintenance. Mr. Martin served in the Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are 3 daughters: Kathy Snyder (Bill) of Lincoln, NH, Marilyn Jones & Bethany Johnson, both of Lafayette, 2 sons: Robert E. Martin of Monticello & Jeremy A. Martin (significant other: Heather) of Otterbein. Also a brother: Arthur Martin (Yolande) of Dandridge, TN and a sister: Effie Hamilton (Jack) of Lafayette.
Friends may call from 1pm until Service 2pm Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home in Lafayette with Pastor Timothy Faber officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Delphi with Military Graveside Rites. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his 3 brothers: James, Irvin & Lewis, a sister: Juanita McMillan and great-grandson: Javin Wallen.
