Phyllis Watson

Phyllis M. Watson, 82, of Oxford, IN. died at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette, IN. Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 6:58 PM. Phyllis was born in Monticello, KY. November 13, 1930, the daughter of the late Obie and Loretta Denney Thompson, and attended Monticello, KY schools. She married Luther Watson in Oxford, IN. July 26, 1973, and he survives.
Phyllis was a member of the Montmorenci Baptist Church; enjoyed gardening; spending her summers in Monticello, KY. with her brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Neva; sitting on the front porch at home; spending time with family and friends and vacationing in Kentucky.
She retired after 19 years working as a custodian for Benton Community Schools at Benton Central High School.
Surviving with her husband are four daughters, Glenna Claire (husband Phil) of Las Vegas, NV.; Virginia Stetler of Oxford, IN.; Deb Logsdon (companion Rose) of Boswell, IN.; Mary Shuee (husband Matt) of Boswell, IN.; three sons Pete Winchester (wife Lori) of Oxford, IN.; Ron Winchester of Fowler, IN. Steve Winchester of Oxford, IN.; three step-daughters, Ruthann Foster of Pine Knot, Ky.; Susan Watson and Vivian Spradlin (husband Carl) all of Whitley City, KY.; and a sister Mary Timmons of Oxford, IN.
Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Lester Winchester; a sister Marge Thompson, and by 2 brothers, Shirley and Melvin Thompson.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford from 10:00 AM until the service at 2:00 PM Tuesday, Rev. Lawrence Rainwater officiating, with interment in Oxford West Cemetery.
