Phylis Jansen

Phylis Jane Jansen, 78, of Lafayette, died at Rosewalk Village 7:55 PM Thursday December 11, 2008. She had been a patient there since June. Born December 21, 1929 in Lafayette, the daughter of the late Paul and Laura Weir Panlener, she was a life long Lafayette resident. She married Paul F. Jansen in Lafayette Sept. 26, 1949, and he survives. Mrs. Jansen was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School, and attended Purdue University. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Jansen had worked for Don Holst Travel for a number of years as a bookkeeper and office manager. Surviving with her husband is a daughter, Barbara E. Kurt (husband Mike) of St. Louis, MO.; and 3 sons, Richard D. Jansen of Lafayette; Charles F. Jansen (wife Gayle) of Frankfort, IN. and David W. Jansen (wife Ellie) of Honeybrook, PA. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, 4 sisters and a brother. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 11:00 AM Tuesday, Fr. Dan Gartland officiating, with a reception and luncheon following at St. Lawrence Social Hall.
