Othie Flynn, 95, of West Lafayette and formerly of Boswell, died at Heritage Healthcare in West Lafayette 4:22 PM Sunday November 17, 2013 where he had resided the past three years. Othie was born in Wayne County, Kentucky May 11, 1918, the son of the late William T. and Ollie Maud Eads Flynn. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a carpenter and had last worked for the Boswell Lumber Company. He married Jewell B. Tyler in Ambia, IN. February 17, 1944 and she preceded him in death May 4, 1961. Othie was a longtime member of the American Legion Post at Boswell and enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Louise Stillabower of Fowler, IN.; Judith Dawn Flynn of Spring, TX.; a son, George Michael "Mike" Flynn of Reno, NV.; and four brothers, Oscar Flynn of Oregon.; Omer Flynn of Boswell, IN.; Oliver Flynn (wife Dee) of West Lafayette, IN.; Oakley Flynn (wife Delores) of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Raven Schultz, and by five brothers, Ovie, Odie, Orvil "Hack", Oral and Ottis. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford, from noon until the service at 1:00 PM Friday, Rev. Patricia Jones officiating, with interment in Boswell Cemetery with military graveside rites by Boswell American Legion Post 476.
