Omer Flynn

Omer Flynn, 83, of Boswell, IN died at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette Monday June 1, 2015 at 1:56 PM where he had been a patient since Friday. Omer was born in Boswell, IN October 30, 1931, the son of the late William T. and Ollie Maude Eads Flynn and attended Boswell schools. He married Marlene A. Trimble at Boswell February 10, 1951 and she preceded him in death June 21, 2011. Omer had been employed at Moews Seed Company in Boswell for 38 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Boswell Christian Church, enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, and liked hunting and woodworking. Surviving is a daughter, Joy A. Flynn of Boswell; three sons, Bill L. Flynn (wife Terry) of Skipwith, VA; Thomas D. Flynn of Linden, IN; Doyle E. Flynn (wife Sandra) of Boswell, IN; and by three brothers, Oscar Flynn of Oregon; Oliver Flynn (wife Dee) of West Lafayette, IN and Oakley Flynn (wife Delores) of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Ovie, Othie, Oral, Odie "Dude", Orville "Hack" and Ottis Flynn. Friends may call at the Boswell Free Methodist Church from 4:00 PM until the funeral service at 6:00 PM Friday, Pastor John Morris officiating.
