Olive Hopkins

Olive Hopkins, 95, of Linden, died at St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Lafayette 3:30 A.M. Wednesday June 11, 2008, where she had been a patient for the past year and a half. Born in Washington County, Indiana October 22, 1912 the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Flora Lee Early Thompson, she had resided in the Linden area for over 40 years. She married Everett Hopkins at Salem, Indiana June 8, 1929, and he preceded her in death February 15, 2003. Mrs. Hopkins attended Washington County Schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of Linden United Methodist Church, and enjoyed flower gardening. Surviving are 2 daughters, Gloria J. Ferguson and Lenore P. Williams (husband Charles) both of Lafayette, IN. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Linden, from 10:00 A.M. until the service at 12 Noon on Saturday, Rev. Dr. LaMont Bonath officiating. Interment Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara J. Sorters, a grandson, 8 brothers and 3 sisters.
