Norman P. Snoddy 81, of Lafayette, died at Clarian Arnett Hospital 12:48 AM Tuesday September 7, 2010. Mr. Snoddy was born at Sullivan, IN. September 17, 1928, the son of the late Harry and Geneva Smith Snoddy. He was a graduate of Clinton (IN) High School in 1947, and the International Barber School in 1955. His marriage was to Leota P. Clutteur at Shelbyville, IN. February 26, 1954, and she preceded him in death February 9, 2004. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 until 1952, and was a member of American Legion Post 11. Mr. Snoddy owned and operated Norm's Barber Shop in Lafayette on 16th St. near 5 Points from 1956 , and was still barbering until July. Surviving is a son, Dupont Snoddy of Lafayette and a brother Dennis L. Snoddy (wife Susan) of Clinton, IN. Also surviving are his caregivers, Patti Cox and Bill Wheat. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Robert L. Snoddy. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St. Lafayette from 9 AM until the service at 10:00 AM Saturday, Rev. J. William Overbay officiating. Interment, Battle Ground Cemetery, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 11.
