Matthew Lanthus Shelton, 29, of Lafayette, died at his residence Thursday April 15, 2010. He was born in Lafayette June 24, 1981, the son of Paul Steven and Claire L. Dworak Shelton, and was a graduate of Harrison High School as well as the Culinary School of the Colorado Art Institute in Denver, CO. Matthew was employed as a chef for Campus Cooks, working at a Purdue fraternity. He enjoyed sports, especially Indiana University basketball and football. Surviving are his parents, Paul and Claire Shelton of Fayette, AL.; a sister, Sarah E. Shelton of Fayette, AL.; his paternal grandparents, Julius P. and Dorothy N. Shelton of Fayette, AL. along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Helen Dworak. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St. from 5:00 PM until the funeral service at 7:00 PM Wednesday with family, friends and Fr. Edward Tourangeau officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Fayette, AL. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the Crossview Community Church Building Fund, Fayette, AL.
