Mary Runda

Mary S. Runda, 93, of Lafayette, died at Cumberland Pointe Healthcare Center in West Lafayette Sunday March 14, 2010 at 12:50 A.M. where she had resided the past 8 years. Born in Lafayette, Indiana August 28, 1916, the daughter of the late William and Frances Kochert Smith, she was a life- long Lafayette resident. Mrs. Runda attended Wea and St. Boniface schools, and was a graduate of St. Francis High School in 1934. She married Harry H. Runda in Lafayette April 24, 1965, and he preceded her in death July 26, 1981. Mrs. Runda was employed as a secretary for ALCOA 38 years before her retirement, and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the St. Lawrence Altar and Aid Society, and the ALCOA Retirees Club. Surviving is a step-son, Robert L. Runda of Indianapolis and a step-daughter, Mary Ann Mulligan (husband Joseph) of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St. from 9:00 AM until prayers at 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. Lawrence Cahtolic Church, Fr.
