Mary Krecek

Mary Ann Krecek, 79, of Lafayette, died at her residence 8:20 AM Wednesday February 15, 2017. She was born in Lafayette July 16, 1937, the daughter of the late Dr. Arthur C. and Catherine C. Shaffer Delez. Ann was a graduate of St. Francis High School, attended Purdue University and Indiana Business College. She married her husband of over 57 years, James J. Krecek at St. Lawrence Church in Lafayette June 13, 1959 and he survives. Ann was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church; an active member of the Altar and Aide Society at St. Lawrence; was a longtime member of the adult choir and ladies auxiliary choir all at St. Lawrence Church and had helped with Girl Scouts. She had been employed as an executive secretary with National Homes Acceptance Corporation, and had also worked at Mitchell Insurance Agency, J. C. Penney and North American Van Lines of Ft. Wayne. Surviving beside her husband is a daughter, Sister M. Jacinta Krecek, O.S. F. of Ft Wayne, IN; a son, Joseph A. Krecek of Lafayette, IN and a sister Theresa (frank) Brauer of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lever and a brother, Arthur Delez, Jr. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Monday February 20 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
