Mary Annette Datzman, 83, of Lafayette, formerly of Fowler, died at St. Anthony's Healthcare Center in Lafayette 5:25 AM Wednesday May 19, 2010, where she had been a patient since 2006. Born in Round Grove, White County, Indiana August 11, 1926 the daughter of the late John and Nettie Guinn Cain, she was a graduate of Round Grove High School. She married Robert T. Datzman at Barrydale August 10, 1946, and he preceded her in death February 1, 2010. Mrs. Datzman worked at the Lafayette Journal and Courier from 1944 until 1946, and later was a bookkeeper for Sears over 25 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler, and the St. Ann's Society at Sacred Heart; and along with her husband was a member of the Flying Farmers and the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club. Surviving are 4 daughters, Margaret O'Connor (husband Alan) of Crown Point, IN.; Marilyn Datzman of Florence, Oregon; Marcia Gretencord (husband Harold) of Earl Park, IN.; Marcella Datzman of Fowler, IN.; 2 sons, Greg Datzman (wife Elaine) of Darby, MT.; and Duane Datzman (wife Kim) of Goodland, IN.; and a brother, Steve Cain (wife Jean) of Round Grove. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 4 sisters and 7 brothers. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette, from the Rosary at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Wednesday, St. Boniface Catholic Church, Lafayette, with interment to follow at Oxford Catholic Cemetery, Fr. Tim Alkire officiating. If friends desire.
