Mary I. Horn Boots, 81, of Crawfordsville, formerly of rural Darlington, died at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis 7:55 P.M. Wednesday February 4, 2009, where she had been a patient for the past 9 days and in ill health the past 6 months. She was born in Darlington, IN. May 22, 1927, the daughter of the late Willard F. and Freda Cox Mahoy, and was a graduate of Bowers High School. Her first marriage was to James L. Horn September 22, 1946 in Crawfordsville, IN. and he preceded her in death March 5, 1978. She later married Robert L. Boots at Linden, IN. March 10, 1993, and he survives. Mrs. Boots had worked as a cashier at the Darlington and Romney Grocery stores, and also for Shop Rite in Crawfordsville, and had also worked as a cook at Darlington High School. She was a member of St. Paul Community Church, and the Bell's ladies group at the church. Surviving beside her husband are 2 daughters, Karen Wilbur (husband John) of Waynetown, IN.; Linda Myers (husband Ralph) of Crawfordsville, IN.; 2 sons, Thomas Horn (wife Rose) and John Horn (wife Brenda) both of Crawfordsville; 2 step-daughters, Joanna Kulcher of Thorntown, IN. and Robbie (husband Robert) Gunderman of Frankfort, IN.; a brother, Charles Mahoy (wife Marie) of Orlando, FL. and a sister, Martha A. Hampton of Crawfordsville, IN. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren 8 step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Linden, from 3 until 6 PM Sunday. Funeral services at HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Linden 10:30 AM Monday, Rev. Dr. R. Clayton Kendall officiating.
