Marilyn Cripe

Marilyn J. Cripe, 82, of Fowler, IN. died at Green Hill Manor in Fowler Thursday May 23, 2013 at 2:08 PM. She had been a patient there since November 2012.
Marilyn was born in Watseka, IL. September 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Alves and Eula G. Clute Sherfick. She was a 1948 graduate of Fowler High School, and was a life long Fowler resident. Marilyn married Lloyd G. Cripe in Fowler December 5, 1952, and he preceded her in death November 18, 1988.
Marilyn served as Benton County Treasurer eight years; Benton County Recorder three years, and Clerk-Treasurer of Fowler for twenty one years before her retirement. She was a member of the Fowler Christian Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Bunco Club and was active in the Fowler Senior Center..
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Cripe (companion Randy) of Otterbein, IN.; Vicky Leuck (husband Alan) of Fowler; two sons, Richard Cripe (wife Linda) of Fowler, Ronald Cripe (wife Kim) of Fowler, and a brother William Sherfick (wife Marjorie) of Lafayette. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kristin (Leuck) Patrick (husband Brad) of Lafayette, Kayla Cripe of Lafayette, Carly, Chelsey, Trevor,and Carmen Cripe all of Fowler.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford from 11 AM until the service at 2 PM Wednesday, Pastor John Stonebraker, Jr. officiating, with private family entombment service to follow at Fowler Cemetery.
