Margaret Dianne Wilcox, 76, of Linden, IN passed away at Witham Hospital in Lebanon, IN 5:42 PM Sunday August 18, 2019. Margaret was born at Waynetown, IN in the family home April 11, 1943, the daughter of the late Gerald W. and Dorothy (Coombs) West. She attended Waynetown Schools and after moving with her family to Linden in 1951, was a 1962 graduate of Linden High School. Her marriage was to Robert William Wilcox at the Linden Baptist Church October 7, 1963, and he preceded her in death December 17, 1990. Margaret had been employed at Hoosier Crown in Crawfordsville; later at the Linden Southside Tavern and also at the VFW in Crawfordsville. She attended the Linden Baptist Church, was a member of the VFW Auxiliary 1431 in Crawfordsville and American Legion Post 72 Ladies Auxiliary. Dianne, as she was known to others, loved the VFW, where she was a member for 30 years. She was a past-president of the Auxiliary and past secretary of the VFW Auxiliary 6th District. She devoted most of her time to the VFW in one way or another for many years. Dianne loved helping others. Her home was always open to anyone that needed a place to lay their head. She was “Mom” or “Grandma” to everyone. Dianne’s greatest love was for her family. Her family was her life’s being. She touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving is a son, Robert Wayne Wilcox of Linden, IN; a step-daughter, Dawn Brown of Crawfordsville, IN; a brother, James West of Crawfordsville, IN; and by two sisters, Kathy Billingsley of Crawfordsville, IN and Ruth Brown (Ralph) of Waveland, IN. Also surviving is a grandson, Ryan Wayne Wilcox; three step-grandchildren, John, Michael and Derrick Brown; a great-grandson, Ryan Wayne Wilcox II; 17 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Rensselaer “Rance” Wilcox. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden, IN Wednesday from 4 until 7:00 PM, with the VFW Auxiliary Service at 6:45 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden at 10:30 AM Thursday, with interment following in Linden Cemetery.
