Margaret A. Hubertz, 94, of Winamac, IN. and formerly of Lafayette, died at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, IN. 10:22 PM Wednesday August 15, 2012 where she had been a patient the past 3 days. She had moved to Knox, IN. to reside with her daughter, Catherine, and had most recently resided at Hickory Creek Health Care Center in Winamac.
Margaret was born in Goodland, IN. February 9, 1918, the daughter of the late Martin and Gertrude Burke Mangan. She was a graduate of the former St. Francis High School in Lafayette, and was a homemaker. She married Lawrence C. Hubertz in Lafayette October 8, 1941, and he preceded her in death October 8, 1994. Margaret was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Theresa Foreman (husband Richard) of West Lafayette, IN.; Mary A. Hubertz of Jasper, AR.; Catherine R. Yankauskas (husband Michael) of Knox, IN.; 3 sons, James L. Hubertz (wife Juanita); Joseph R. Hubertz (wife Anne), and Anthony L. Hubertz all of Lafayette, IN.; 2 brothers, Michael Mangan of Indianapolis, IN. and Bernard Mangan (wife Donna) of Walton, IN. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from the time of the Rosary at 3:45 until 6 PM Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lafayette, 10:30 AM Monday, Fr. Matthew J. Arbuckle officiating, with interment following in St. Boniface Cemetery.
