Margaret O. Fields, 90, of Lafayette, died at Mulberry Health and Retirement Center, Mulberry, IN. at 11:48 AM Wednesday August 26, 2009 where she had been a patient for the past 2 months. Mrs. Fields was born January 25, 1919 in Colfax, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Lenehan Harrison. She resided in Lafayette most all of her life, and was a graduate of Colfax High School in 1937, and a graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She married Milton B. Fields at Frankfort, IN. January 16, 1944 and he survives. A registered nurse, Mrs. Fields worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 40 years, and was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. Surviving with her husband is a daughter, Sandra K. Cooper (husband Timothy) of Ft. Wayne, IN.; and by 2 sons, Douglas C. Fields of Lafayette and Mark A. Fields on Indianapolis. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Katie Cooper. Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Kathryn Hinton and Elizabeth Harris and a brother, Leonard Harrison. Friends may call at St. Mary's Cathedral from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Friday , Fr. Dan Gartland officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
