Luella W. Wepler, 91, formerly of Lafayette, died at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette 11:59 AM Wednesday September 28, 2016. She had been a patient there since Saturday and had been a resident of Milner Healthcare in Rossville, IN the past year. Luella was born in Glendon, MN, the daughter of the late Walter and Blanche Goodrich Wiesler and was a graduate of Hawley High School in Hawley, MN. She married Richard T. Wepler in Lafayette November 10, 1950, and he preceded her in death December 26, 2006. Luella was a member of Congress Street United Methodist Church, a charter member of the “Sew”ciety and a member the First Nighter’s Circle , all at Congress Street United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed baking, knitting, sewing, working puzzles and playing cards. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret “Peggi” Drown of West Lafayette; Judith Webb (Craig) of Cutler, IN; a son, William “Bill” Wepler (Debra) of Anderson, IN; five grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis, Francis and Spencer Wiesler. Friends may call from 12 PM until the service at 1:00 PM Saturday Oct. 1 at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette, Lee Ann Wiesler officiating.
