Louis W. Brown, 84, of Lafayette died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center 2:30 A.M. Thursday June 5, 2008. Born in Lafayette August 26, 1923, the son of the late Lewis and Sophia Kruse Brown, he resided in Tippecanoe County all of his life and attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. He married Marie Louise Albreghts in 1947 and she died November, 1952. He then married Phyllis Barcus on July 30, 1955, and she survives. Mr. Brown was a co-owner of L. Rausch Construction, retiring August 1989. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, WW II, serving as a torpedoman aboard the destroyer USS Anthony in the Pacific theatre. He was a parishioner at St. Lawrence Catholic Church; a member of American Legion Post 11, and VFW Post 1154. Mr. Brown enjoyed woodworking, gardening, NASCAR and Purdue sports. Surviving with his wife are 2 sons, Ken Brown (wife Marcia) of Mulberry, IN.; Kevin Brown (wife Judy) of Lafayette; 3 daughters, Connie Brown (husband Rick) of Delphi, IN.; Karan Luckett (husband Tom) of Lafayette; Cindy Lempke of Lafayette; and a sister Joan Westfall of Lafayette. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St. from the time of the Rosary at 2:45 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 10:00 A.M. Monday, Fr. Dan Duff officiating. Interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery with American Legion Post 11 graveside rites. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren 1 step-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother, 5 sisters and a son-in-law.
