Lorine Roth

Lorine L. Roth, 97, of Lafayette, died at St. Anthony's Healthcare Center 9:20 A.M. Saturday October 4, 2008 where she had been a patient since August 31. Born in Tippecanoe County, Near Odell, March 8, 1911, the daughter of the late Harry Wilbert and Mary Louise Hendricks Thayer, she was a life long county resident and a had resided in the Elston community since 1917. She married Elmer W. Roth at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lafayette October 16, 1934, and he preceded her in death March 25, 2001. Mrs. Roth attended Elston School and was a graduate of St. Ann's High School. She worked as a secretary for Adams Insurance Agency 20 years, retiring March 31, 1973. Mrs. Roth was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, and the Altar and Rosary Society at the church; and was a former member of the Elston Home Demonstration Club. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing euchre, traveling, reading and crocheting. Surviving is a daughter, Helen L. (husband Harold "Toots") Clark of Lafayette. Friends may call at St. Ann's Catholic Church from 9:30 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Fr. Dominic Young officiating. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Larry Clark (wife Robin), Vicky Roberts (husband Mike), Jo Mitchell (husband Bob), Ed Clark (companion Kelly) Luann Riehle (husband Tedd) and Keith Anderson; 13 great grandchildren, Sarah Livengood (husband Phil), Kevin Roberts, Rachael Allison (husband Brad), Kyle Roberts, Bradley Mitchell, Luke Clark, Gretchen Hurst, Lauri Mitchell, Paige Hurst, Nikki Riehle, Kyle Anderson, Hailey Cecil and Gaitlin Anderson; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Emily Livengood.
