Leonora Taylor

Leonora R. “Sis”Taylor, 99 of Lafayette, passed away at her residence in Lafayette 2:00 PM Friday July 14, 2017. Leonora was born in Lafayette January 19, 1918, the daughter of the late Paul F. and Mabel J. Lehnen Butz and was a 1936 graduate of St. Francis High School. She married Theodore C. Taylor in Lafayette January 31, 1943, and he preceded her in death October 5, 1987. Leonora resided in Lafayette nearly all of her life, except for 33 years spent in Monticello, IN, returning to Lafayette eleven years ago. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in her early years and a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church while residing in Monticello and since returning to Lafayette a member of St. Mary Cathedral. Leonora enjoyed gardening and she and her husband were outstanding ballroom dancers. Surviving are two sons, Theodore D. “Ted” Taylor (wife Viki) of Lafayette; Michael S. “Mike” Taylor (wife Kathy) of Delphi, IN and a brother, Keith Butz of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kristin Taylor, Zach (wife Lisa) Taylor, Amanda Taylor, Nick Taylor (fiance Dawn) and a great-granddaughter Leah. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas and by two sisters and four brothers. Friends may call at St. Mary Cathedral from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Wednesday July 19, Fr. Kyle P.
