Leonard Eugene Broe

Leonard Eugene Broe passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2024. He was 94 years old, born May 5^th, 1929. He was the youngest of nine and the last surviving member of his siblings. Leonard was born and raised on the farmland of Indiana in Earl Park. Leonard went into the service where he served in the Army and spent time in Germany during his deployment. When he came home from his service he farmed in Earl Park for many years before moving to a farm with over 900 acres in Round Grove.  
 
 He is survived by his children Michael Broe, wife Brenda, grandchildren Kelsey and Alex and his spouse Brittany and great grandson Baker who all live in the Atlanta, GA area. Suzie Hendrichs from Lafayette, IN. Grandchildren Sarah Hobson great grandchildren Oliver, Duncan and Myka Hobson from Fairbanks, AK and Jason Hendrichs of Lafayette and son Lonnie Broe of Monticello IN. 
 
 Dad was a simple man with a heart of gold that he worked hard to hide.  After retiring early from farming he moved to Lafayette where he lived until his passing.  He loved to play cards which helped introduce him to his very special friend Jerry Smith who survives and he loved dearly. Dad could be talked into a game of Euchre at any time of day or night. Many family gatherings were spent around the kitchen table playing. We were blessed with Dad’s humor and quick wit, but focus on the card game was a priority. 
 
 The family is honoring his very clear wishes of not having a service, but we ask that you take a moment, think of him and say a prayer for a great man that we got to enjoy for many years.
