Kevin Cavanaugh

Kevin Edward Cavanaugh, 61, of Lafayette, died at St. Anthony's Healthcare in Lafayette 8:53 PM Saturday May 17, 2014 where he had been a patient the past three weeks. He had been ill with cancer since October, 2013. Kevin was born in Lafayette, the son of Edward A. and Delores J. (Thompson) Cavanaugh, Jr. He was a graduate of Wainwright High School and attended Vincennes University. Kevin was employed by Caterpillar for over twenty years and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 11 of Lafayette. Surviving beside his parents is a daughter, Kelly J. Carpenter (husband Will) of Lafayette; a son, Patrick M. Cavanaugh (wife Heather) of Ann Arbor, MI. and a sister, Cathy Cavanaugh of Lafayette. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Shaun P. Cavanaugh, Eleanor J. and Colin W. Carpenter and by a friend Lynn Claytor. Private family services will be held at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home in Lafayette, with interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fr. Dan Gartland officiating.
