Kenneth R. Irvin, 74, of Lafayette, IN. died at his residence 5:15 AM Saturday December 24, 2011.



Kenneth was born in Mt. Hermon, KY. Ocotber 6, 1937 the son of the late Lawrence and Ortha Daniels Irvin, and was a graduate of Coal Creek High School in Montgomery County, IN.



He married his wife of 36 years, Kathleen C. Cecille at Liberty Chapel near New Richmond, IN. June 7, 1975, and she survives.



Kenneth was formerly employed as a manager for United Farm Tools 17 years, and later as a machinist for Fairfield Manufactureing 12 years before his retirement. He and his wife had a country-western band, "Ken & Kathy's Springwater Review" for several years, as well as Kenneth being an auctioneer for 10 years.



He served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of VFW Post 1154 in Lafayette.



Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Nancy Richardson (husband Kirk) of Lafayette, IN.; 1 son, Raymond K. Irvin (wife Kim) of Greenwood, IN.; a brother, Jesse Irvin (wife Janice) of Waynetown, IN.; 2 sisters, Clarine Bair of Mesa, AZ.; Barbara Swearingen of Sparks, GA.; 3 brothers-in-law, Clarence Cecille of Lafayette, IN.; and Johnny Cecille of Williamsport, IN. and Jim Cecille (wife Maryann) of Streamwood, IL; 2 sisters-in-law, Geri Ryan (companion Floyd Holmes) of Crawfordsville, IN.; and Jackie Kraft (husband Tim) of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 4 granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, William Irvin, a brother, William Irvin,a sister Joyce Glass and a brother-in-law, Zane Cecille. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Lafayette, from 5 until 8 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at the funeralhome 10:00 AM Wednesday, Fr. Matthew Arbuckle officiating, with entombment to follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Memories and condolences may be left at www.hahngroeberfuneralhome.com.
