Kenneth Cooley

November 22, 1919 — July 8, 2008

Kenneth E. "Kenny" Cooley, 88, of Brownsville, Texas and formerly of Fowler, IN. , was pronounced dead at the emergency room of Valley Baptist Hospital, Brownsville after an apparent heart attack at St. Mary's Chapel early Tuesday morning. He was born in Stockland, Illinois November 22, 1919, the son of the late Michael H. and Marie C. Donohue Cooley. Mr. Cooley was educated at Freeland Park School, and was a veteran of the US Army during WWII. He farmed for many years and retired from Fowler Rotary Printing at age 78 after 35 years, being the company's oldest retiree, never missing a day on the job. Mr. Cooley was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler for many years, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brownsville. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Forresters; American Legion Post 57; the Veterans of Foreign Wars; the 40 & 8 and the Knights of Columbus, all at Fowler. Surviving are 3 daughters, Mary Rayburn (husband Eric) of Danville, IL.; Amy Miranda (husband Marty) of Terre Haute, IN.; Angela Robertson (husband David) of Brownsburg, IN.; a step daughter, Lisa Gephart (husband Warren) of West Lafayette, IN.; 4 sons Keith, Dominic & Gabriel Cooley (wife Sherry) all of Lafayette, and Jonathan Cooley of Indianapolis, IN.; 2 brothers, David Cooley (wife Jean) of Clarks Hill, IN.; Paul Cooley of Kisimmee, FL.; and 4 sisters, Rita Lundgren of Salt lake City, Utah; Rosemary Budreau of Earl Park, IN.; Ruthann Wolfe (husband Harvey) of Oxford, IN. and Jan Flora (husband Carol) of Delphi, IN. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford, from the Rosary at 2:45 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fowler 10:30 A.M. Monday, Fr. Donald Gross officiating. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Kentland, with American Legion Post 57 graveside rites. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice. Also surviving are several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
