Kathleen (Kay) T. Conley, 96, of Lafayette passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Born in Chicago, IL on February 10, 1918, she was the daughter of Thomas O'Grady of County Limerick, Ireland and Alice (Burke) O'Grady of County Clare, Ireland. Upon graduation from Visitation Parish High School, she attended business college in Chicago, which led to a career at American Airlines.
She married Robert (Bob) J. Conley on October 18, 1947 in Chicago, Ill and then moved to Rensselaer, IN where she worked as a legal assistant at the Dumas Law Firm and raised a family of 5 children. Bob, Kay and their family moved to Lafayette in 1967 and since that time she was an active member of: St. Mary Cathedral, St. Mary's Rosary and Alter Society, St. Elizabeth Auxiliary, and an active volunteer in the Lafayette Catholic School System where her children and grandchildren attended. Kay had many hobbies including gardening, baking, sewing, walking groups, and she was a very active grandmother and great-grandmother, lovingly known by her grandchildren as "Mamoo".
Kay was preceded in death by her husband Bob who passed on June 19, 2002 and her brothers Jack, Tom, Tim and her sisters Maureen and Alice. Surviving are her sister Mary, her children Mary Alice (Jim) Greives, Tom Conley, Dennis (Leslie) Conley, Peg (Mark Mathew) Conley, and Beth (Randy) Severinsen, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Kay's family would like to thank the residents, nurses and entire staff of University Place for their friendship and care they showed Kay while she was a resident. She truly benefited from their care and companionship while living in independent living these past few years.
Friends may call at St. Mary Cathedral from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM on Friday, Fr. Joshua T. Bennett officiating. A private family interment will be held at Mt.
