Karen Ferguson

Karen S. Ferguson, 53, of Lafayette, died at Clarian-Arnett Hospital Emergency Room 6:04 PM Monday July 6, 2009.Born December 12, 1955 in Lafayette, the daughter of Beulah L. Thomas and the late Robert Kemmer, she was a graduate of New Castle (IN) High School in 1974. She married Theodore "Ted" Ferguson in Lafayette at the Linwood Church of Christ October 9, 1993, and he survives. Mrs. Ferguson had worked for the State Of Indiana, Work Force One for 22 years, first in Indianapolis, later in the Lafayette office. She was a member of the Linwood Church of Christ; collected jewelry and English teapots, and was an avid reader. Surviving with her husband is her mother, Beulah L. Hurst of Lafayette; 2 brothers, Darryl Hurst of Bloomington, IN., and Kevin Kemmer of Anderson, IN. Also surviving is a nephew, Dave R. Kemmer, Sr. of Daleville, IN.; 2 nieces, Melody D. Holton of Cincinnati, OH.; Erin Werner of Bloomington, IN.; a great-nephew, Dave R. Kemmer, Jr. and 2 special friends, Dianna Bush of Dayton, IN and Jeanette Holeva of Indianapolis, IN. Preceded in death by her father, Robert Kemmer and her step-father, Noble Hurst. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St. from 5 until 8 PM Thursday.
