Julia Jean “Jolly” Cunningham, 93, of Linden, IN died at Clinton House Healthcare Center, Monday morning July 1, 2024. Jolly was born in Chillicothe, MO April 16, 1931, the daughter of the late Price Clayton Owings and Julia Margaret Campbell-Owings and was a 1949 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Jolly came from a family of 14 children, 8 girls and 6 boys. She married Ivan R. “Pete” Cunningham at Chillicothe, MO November 16, 1949, and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2016. They were married for 67 loving years. Jolly was a member of Liberty Chapel in Montgomery Co. She was a full-time housewife that enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses, training bird dogs, gardening and Holiday family gatherings with her husband.
Surviving with her three daughters, Brenda Sutton (Leroy) of Long Lane, MO, Sandra Birge (Darrell) of Linden, IN and Martha Wedemeyer (Henry) of Roachdale, IN; by a son, Clayton Cunningham of Buck Creek, IN. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Cunningham; daughter-in-law Kathy Cunningham and son-in-law David Birge. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden from 12:00 PM until time of service at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2024 officiated by Pastor Rob Wood. Interment to follow at Linden Cemetery.
