Joseph A. Solbach, 82, of Lafayette, died at Heritage Healthcare, West Lafayette 1:25 A.M. Thursday Sept, 25, 2008. Born in Lafayette February 1, 1926, the son of the late Anton and Augusta Golla Solbach, he was a life long Lafayette resident. He married Mary Alberta Donaldson in Lafayette August 7, 1976, and she preceded him in death January 16, 2006. Mr. Solbach was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School, and attended Purdue University. He was a locksmith for St. Elizabeth Hospital 53 years, retiring January 14, 1993. Mr. Solbach was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree; and a member of the Association of Locksmiths of America. Surviving is a step-daughter, Vickie Francis (husband James) of Lafayette.
