Jeffrey Deerr

Jeffrey Brian Deerr, 53, of Lafayette, passed away at his residence Wednesday morning November 14, 2018. He was born in Lafayette January 31, 1965, the son of David J. and Donna K. (McDowell) Deerr and was a 1983 graduate of Lafayette Central Catholic High School and furthered his education in the US Navy, where he served from 1988 until 1994 during Desert Storm. Jeffrey married Rebecca J. Olszewski in Brown County, IN October 3, 2008, and she survives. Professionally, Jeffrey was an electrician for IBEW 668, working for several local contractors. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church; the NRA; enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a wonderful person who cared deeply for his family and friends and will be deeply missed. Surviving with his wife, Rebecca are his parents, David and Donna Deerr of Lafayette; a step-daughter, Noelle Leon of Corona, CA; two step-sons, Nate Leon of Fullerton, Ca; Nick Leon of San Jose, CA; a brother, Daniel D. Deerr of Lafayette and a sister, Susan E. Hancock of Lafayette. Also surviving are three step-grandchildren, Kaden, Weston and Julian. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph A. Deerr. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM Monday Nov. 19 in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Fr. Dominic Young officiating. The interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery with American Legion Post 11 military rites. Memorials may be made to Rebecca Deerr to assist with expenses.
