Jean Breheny

Jean Ann Breheny, 81, of Lafayette, died at Hooverwood Healthcare Center in Indianapolis, IN. Monday January 3, 2011, where she had resided since 2007. Mrs. Breheny was born in Keokuk, Iowa August 19, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Valentine Lorig Bernhardt, and graduated from St. Peters Catholic High School in Keokuk, Iowa. She married James T. Breheny at Keokuk, Iowa June 19, 1954, and he preceded her in death January 19, 1989. A homemaker, Mrs. Breheny was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Lafayette, and volunteered at St. Mary's Cathedral and at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. Surviving is a daughter, Jamie Breheny Deno (husband Mark A.) of Westfield, IN.; and a son, John A. Breheny (wife Maureen) of Alexandria, VA. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Martha Bartholomew and Dorothy Randall. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from the rosary at 4:45 PM until 7:00 PM Friday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Saturday, St. Mary's Cathedral, Fr.
