James Wilkerson

James Raymond Wilkerson, 65, of Lafayette, died at Roudebush VA Hospital in Indianapolis Saturday October 21, 2017. James was born in Lafayette June 27, 1952 to the late Hillard James and Thelma Lucille Hardesty Wilkerson. He was a graduate of Rossville, IN High School and served in the U. S. Army from 1972 until 1974 during the Viet Nam War. James was employed as a roofer with Roofers Local 119 of Anderson, IN, retiring in 2008. He was a member of Beta Phi Sigma Fraternity and enjoyed woodworking. Surviving is a daughter, Jennifer M. Wilkerson of Lafayette; two sons, Mark Adam Wilkerson and James Matthew Wilkerson (wife Patricia) both of Lafayette; and by three brothers, George Samuel and Richard Wilkerson of Rossville, IN and Donald Wilkerson of TN. Also surviving are six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Lucille Panich. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Beta Phi Sigma Fraternity, 208 N. 900 E., Lafayette 47905 starting at 3:00 PM Saturday Oct. 28.
