Jacob Lance Popejoy, 26, of Lafayette, IN. went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday November 26, 2011.
Jacob was born on March 28, 1985 in Logansport, IN. to James L. and Jenny L. (Maxson) Popejoy.
He was a 2003 graduate of McCutcheon High School. He attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Following high school, he worked with his father in the family business for 4 years. He hired on at SIA in 2007 in the engine department.
In Jacob's own words, he described himself as: "Funny, silly, easy going. I love family, friends and honestly the indoors and outdoors. I dislike wet socks, liars and cheaters. I'm into puzzles, billiards, darts, bowling, football, video games and whatever else I can win or lose at... ... I'm Jacob."
Jacob was also very fond of the family pets.
Surviving with his parents are siblings, Melissa Popejoy of Germany; Dawn Broomfield (husband George) of Indianapolis; Joe Popejoy (wife Shelly) of Logansport; Matt Popejoy of Logansport; Jennaca Popejoy of Lafayette; and grandparents Donald and Linda Maxson of Logansport. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Tony and Pearl Popejoy.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM on Friday December 2, 2011 at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Lafayette. Funeral service immediately following, Pastor James Chase officiating.
Private interment to follow at a later date at Meadowview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Lafayette.
