Irene Westrick

Irene C. Westrick, 89, of Lafayette, died at St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Lafayette 12:30 AM Tuesday January 8, 2013 where she had been a patient for the past week.
Irene was born in Ottawa, Ohio February 24, 1923, the daughter of the late Lewis and Ludvina Moening Schroeder and had resided in Lafayette the past 51 years, moving here from Elida, OH. She attended Columbus Grove, OH schools and was a homemaker and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.. Irene married Leroy Westrick at Columbus Grove, OH November 23, 1946 and he preceded her in death October 19, 2003.
Surviving are four daughters, Rebecca Bernardon of Omaha, NE.; Annette Smith of Palestine, TX.; Jacqueline Westrick of Lafayette, IN. and Kathleen Albert of Lafayette, IN.; and by two sisters, Velma Pope of Ottawa, OH.; and Edna Mae McCrate of Columbus Grove, OH. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 until 8 PM Thursday with Rosary service at 4:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 10:30 AM Friday, Fr. Matthew Arbuckle officiating, with interment in St. Boniface Cemetery.
