Inez Patterson

Inez Roseann Patterson, 71, of Stockwell, IN. died at her residence Sunday August 24, 2014. Roseann was born in Lafayette, IN August 4, 1943, the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Agnes P. Detty Coddington and was a graduate of Southwestern High School and the House of James Beauty College in Indianapolis. She married Larry Joe Patterson in Lafayette March 16, 1962, and he survives. Roseann was a member of Elston Presbyterian Church and an active member of the church choir along with being a member of the Women of the Moose. She was formerly a member and Sunday School teacher at Stockwell United Methodist Church. Roseann was a friend of many people, loved to make people laugh, enjoyed singing and dancing and was passionate about rescuing animals. She had formerly worked at Consolidated Industries, and later was a manager for the Village Pantry stores in the Lafayette area. Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Chris Sutton (husband Jeff) of Lafayette; Cindy Austerman (husband Craig) of Dayton, IN; two sons, Larry L. Patterson (wife Sue) of Rossville, IN , Shawn Patterson, (wife Jamie) of Lafayette; and a sister, Sue Sarjent (husband Steve) of Lafayette. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Carol Albertson and Connie Newkirk. Friends may call from 5 until 8 pm Thursday at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service at 10:30 AM Friday at the Elston Presbyterian Church, 375 Elston Road, Lafayette, Pastor Rich Ryan officiating, with the interment to follow at Farmers Institute Cemetery.
